Ever struggled to grab code snippets, config values, or slides from a YouTube video? YT-context makes this super simple. Instead of relying on transcripts or low-quality OCR, it captures the current video frame, sends it to AI, and extracts the relevant text for you โ neatly formatted and instantly copyable.

Hereโs a quick video showing how YT-context works in action. Do give us a follow!
Go to any YouTube video and pause it on the frame that contains the text you want to extract โ like code on the screen, terminal commands, or instructions from a slide.
Hit the YT-context icon from your browser toolbar and click on the "Get context from vide frame" button. The extension captures the current frame, sends it to an AI backend, and receives a clean text output based on the image content.
Once the analysis is complete, YT-context displays the extracted information in a popup. You can review and copy the relevant parts with a single click โ super helpful for devs, learners, or anyone following tutorials.
You can also easily capture video screenshots with this extension using the Camera button on the top right of the popup.
Iโll admit โ I was initially just exploring AI ideas, kind of riding the hype wave. But the more I watched tutorial videos, the more I got frustrated trying to copy terminal outputs and code. OCR didnโt cut it. So I thought โ what if we could just analyze the frame itself? YT-context was my attempt at solving that. Itโs not perfect yet, but itโs a solid first version of a tool I wish existed sooner.
